Dlaczego warto nas wesprzeć ?
Our goal is to eliminate chronic homelessness. We work with individuals who have been living on the streets for ten, twenty, or even thirty years and who have not found their place within the existing homelessness prevention system.
WHY ARE PEOPLE ON THE STREETS FOR SO MANY YEARS? BECAUSE...
-
they do not fit into the shelter or hostel system and are unable to independently end their homelessness crisis;
-
each day on the street distances them from society and the goalof finding safe shelter and self- determination;
-
homelessness stigmatizes and marginalizes, excludes, and destroys self-worth and belief in one’s abilities;
-
on the streets they experience traumas that are difficult to handle constructively without outside support and as a result it becomes hard to enter society and find work- when there is so much pain, suffering, fear and a lack of faith in themselves or in others;
-
they do not feel important or like they’re enough. They are often stripped of their sense of dignity, don’t believe that they’re ‘someone’ that they deserve respect. They feel unimportant and invisible – It is then difficult to start any process of change.
WHY WERE THEY ON THE STREETS?
There’s no one-size-fits-all explanation for why people end up on the streets. It can be the result of various difficulties or crises, such as job loss, the death of a child or a relationship breakup. Health problems are often cited as a cause or the start of a homelessness crisis ..
It's also important to note that many people enter adulthood with difficult experience from childhood, such as- abuse, violence, or a lack of emotional support -and faith in themselves or others or in a better future. These people may have developed coping mechanisms that no longer work when faced with new crises and they may also struggle with mental disorders, poor decision-making skills, or addiction. After a series of crises, they may no longer have the resources to face them.

WHY SHOULD YOU SUPPORT US?
BECAUSE WE’RE EFFECTIVE.
BECAUSE WE RENOVATE APARTMENTS AND REBUILD LIVES.
We provide housing to people and work with them, and as a result 80% of those in apartments stay in them. In the first phase, we cover the costs, then our clients take on part of the costs until they become independent renters, responsible for their own lives and decisions. This is the end of homelessness.
The vacant apartments we rent from the city are mostly in very poor condition, often requiring pest control due to infestation of bed bugs and cockroaches. We then proceed with a complete renovation and furnishing process. So far, we have successfully renovated and furnished 20 apartments , providing housing for 20 individuals. Many of these individuals now have the right to secure independent tenancy, while for others the process is still ongoing. This marks a significant milestone in ending homelessness for these people, many of whom have struggled with homelessness for several or even dozens of years.
